Missing 'back in the day' were mandatory bike helmets, as is clearly illustrated in this May 1983 Bike Rodeo, one of our first events. The current Optimist Community Centre did not exist, and community events were held at the former schoolhouse beside the 'Four Corners' store site. The school served many purposes over its long history. It is currently a private home which has been modified extensively.
