Mechele te Brake is a mother of four adult children and an Oma to four young grandchildren. Her artistic practice is a relatively new expression, one that opened an unexpected creative world in her life. Working on the frontlines in downtown London, Ontario, she witnesses both the harsh realities of systemic oppression and the profound resilience of the people most affected by it.
Through her daily work, Mechele walks alongside people she deeply cares about, observing both life and loss, despair and resistance. These experiences shape her creative process, where she wrestles with the tension between the beauty and wonder of humanity and the devastating ways people can harm one another. Art has become a healing practice for Mechele; a way to move the swirl of thoughts and emotions out of her body and onto the page or canvas. By creating, she makes space to return to what grounds her most: love, community, and the ongoing search for ways to find home together in the mess. |

Deb Kirk is an emergent artist living in the Coldstream/Poplar Hill area.
"Although I have loved art all through my life and tried various fleeting creative ventures, I feel I have landed as a new artist. I have found beauty and peace like never before when I pick up a paint brush . I am always inspired by the earth, sky, flowers and the beauty that surrounds us every day. We live on such an incredibly amazing planet and I want to share the colour that I feel comes directly from my heart. I use water colour, acrylics, paper, dried flowers/plants and incorporate my photographs in my pieces. I am honoured to be part of a group of artists sharing and hopefully all be inspired by our own unique gifts." |

Hey there! I'm Margaret Allen, and I'm thrilled to share a bit about my artistic journey with you. Nestled in the beautiful region of Kettle Point, Ontario, I find endless inspiration from the majestic Great Lakes that grace our landscape.
Painting has always been my way of capturing the ever-changing dance of light and colour that the Great Lakes offer. Whether it's the shimmering sunrise gently waking up the water or the dramatic hues of a storm rolling in, I aim to translate these breathtaking moments onto my canvas. My work is all about evoking that sense of wonder and tranquility that the Great Lakes provide. I love experimenting with different techniques to capture the subtle nuances and bold splashes of colour that nature so generously provides. Each brushstroke is a tribute to the lakes' timeless beauty and their ability to inspire serenity and awe. Thanks for stopping by and sharing this journey with me. I hope my paintings bring a little bit of the Great Lakes' magic to your world. Website:greatlakesstudio.net |

Susan Christie Growing up in Michigan, as a BUSY 7 yr old child, I was first taught by my grandma to embroider pictures out of traced coloring book pages. A lifetime of gifts from my needle, threads and sewing machine have been given to friends and family, and continues. In 1983, I moved to an Ontario farm, outside of Exeter, and stepped into the quilt world right next door, Miller’s Barn store, and grew my projects with quilts; samples, teaching classes, and custom ones, (especially memory quilts from loved ones clothing). A 43 year residence here continues to broaden my interests to include weaving, rug hooking, glass fusing, and my favourite of all, a Ziploc bag of little fabric scraps……. There is a project somewhere in there!! I love to create anything and everything, and love to share with friends, family and my creative circles. Still learning, looking to create and sharing the end results!! |

Martine Casademont is a retired high school teacher. She has always enjoyed sewing, mainly costumes for school plays and Halloween. She is now learning Spanish, doing some woodworking, gardening, flower arrangement, origami and crafting in general. She has always admired artists but never picked up a brush until November of 2025, to try to make Christmas cards. Then she received watercolour supplies for Christmas and is now learning the mysteries of this art via online tutorials. She prefers loose, minimalist paintings. Participating in an art show was not on her radar but when asked, she thought why not? Life is too short to not try new things when opportunity presents itself.
