We actually ended up with just over 100 kids registered to take part in the 2026 Free to Create Kids show! The talent was amazing, the enthusiasm catching, and the support of the community inspiring!
Thank you to all of the young artists who shared their work with us. We had such a wide range of mediums and styles represented in this show. Events like these take a lot of planning and work. Thanks to the organizing committee and all of the volunteers who made it possible. |
Winning Artwork
We don't envy the judges the task of selecting the winners with so much incredible art to choose from! In each of the three age categories, a First Prize of $75, Second Prize of $50, and two Third Prizes of $20 were awarded.
The First Place winner in the 14-18yrs category also wins a spot in next year's local artists' show Free to Create Adults. Additionally, her painting will be prominently displayed all summer in the entrance of the Municipality of Lambton Shores' Administration Building. Congratulations to Camila Cabrera Ruiz for her winning acrylic painting 'Bodegero'. Camila is 15, lives in Lucan and attends grade 9 in London.

The Second Place winner in the ages 14-18 yrs category is Snowy Loveday. Her painting is done in acrylic on a piece of wood from a plank of a tree her grandfather felled on his Port Franks property. Snowy's work 'Morning Paddle' was chosen by Deputy Mayor Dan Sageman for purchase by the Municipality of Lambton Shores. It will become part of the municipality's permanent collection. Snowy is 15.

We were thrilled to have Grade 10 student and musician extraordinaire Kian Ford from Forest providing some smooth bari sax background music during the show!
And to our many volunteers - some camera shy, some working outside of the public eye, before and after the show - a huge thank you!
