At our monthly dinner meeting we enjoyed absolutely delicious cabbage rolls and perogies prepared from scratch by our talented member Betty Urbanski. After an update on the many upcoming events from President Lou-Anne MacDonald (check our website to see what’s coming up) Dr. Fran McCordic delivered a most interesting and informative presentation about her humanitarian work in Nairobi, focusing on her most recent trip to work at a clinic in the Kibera slum. Local couple Paul Trottier and Debbie Edwards accompanied Fran on the 2023 mission trip. The scope and importance of this work, through St. James’ Kenya mission projects, is truly remarkable!

One of our past members, Sonja Collinet has done so much for our community and now she needs some help. We encourage everyone to support this effort!  Through the tireless efforts of Linda Attard and a group of members who have been holding regular 'worker bees' sessions and working on their own at home, we have established a presence in several area businesses with our fundraiser for Ukraine. Optimists care! |
