We do it all for the kids! It was so wonderful to see all of the children out at our Pumpkins After Dark event. The costumes were amazing! *Images expand when clicked*
Thank you so much to all of the students from surrounding schools who carved pumpkins for our Pumpkins After Dark event! Everyone loved the display with so many unique and imaginative creations! Let's not forget the educators (teachers, support staff and admin) who went to the extra effort to make this happen. We know the kids had fun and appreciate it just as much as we do! The winning entries will be notified this week. Each winning class received a 'mini' Halloween party. Participating schools: Bosanquet Central, Kinnwood Central Public School, St. John Fisher Catholic School, Hillside School and Grand Bend Public School
We'd also like to acknowledge the community members who brought in Jack O' Lanterns too - so happy to have you be a part of the event! Our community winners were Alistair Douglas, Dave Douglas, and the Foster Family. They received a $10 gift card to Grog's.

Another excellent part of our Pumpkins After Dark event - in partnership with our club's Fire Water and Ice Safety Program we were fortunate to have the Lambton Fire Safety Trailer here. Families had the opportunity to have an interactive experience as a lesson on the importance of fire safety and having a safe plan of escape. You may or may not be aware that our local firefighters are all volunteers! We can't thank them enough for coming out to deliver their important message - and of course for all they do to make our community safer every day. You are heroes!
We were gratified with the turnout to our Pumpkins After Dark event! As you know, a huge event like this doesn't just happen without a lot of work planning, preparing and setting up, running the event and then cleaning it all up afterwards! We have an amazing group of volunteers. Under the direction of event chairs Karen and Tony Puzara, it came off without a hitch. Here are just some of the people behind this endeavour, others worked ahead of time on things like delivering pumpkins to schools and then picking them up, buying supplies, etc. etc.! We don't have pictures of them all but we know who they are and we thank them all so much. Are you interested in volunteering at our events?
