One of the reasons the 2023-2024 Optimist year was extra special for us is that one of our very own, born and raised in Optimism right here in our club, served as Optimist International President. We knew before she began that Tracy Huxley 23/24 Optimist International President would serve with dedication, vision, and an amazing energy - and we were of course right! Congratulations Tracy, thank you for your service!

On November 11, 2023 we gathered to celebrate our own Tracy Huxley at her elevation celebration. The 'Optimist year' begins in October and we couldn't miss the opportunity to wish her well as she assumes this auspicious role.

As a club, we are beyond proud to have one of our very own elevated to the position of Optimist International President! Optimist clubs in 29 different countries worldwide will benefit from her leadership.

Tracy was only seven years old when the club was formed, her father being a charter member, and was raised in Optimism right here in our Ausable - Port Franks Optimist Club. She became a member at 20 and then took off at 30 with a succession of leadership roles in our club, our district and Optimist International.

She truly has blazed a trail and touched so many along her journey. We know she will fulfill this role with competence, industry, compassion and vision. 

The celebration was well attended from Optimists hailing from all over Ontario and beyond, including Optimist International in St. Louis, Missouri.
