On November 12, 2023 our new SWONT Lt. Governor Lorie Scott invited all clubs in Zone 8 to attend a breakfast meeting hosted by our club.

The meeting was well attended with representation from almost every club in the zone and we all enjoyed hearing what everyone has been up to! It was such a great time of fellowship and Optimism!

As a bonus we had quite a few leaders from the District and International in attendance, as they had been at Tracy Huxley's elevation celebration the night before. We were honoured with their presence.

The guest speaker was Marlene Phillips and she spoke on member recruitment and retention. Marlene is the OI Chair of Governance and SWONT District Member Benefits Chair. Everyone gained a lot from listening to her message.

We also heard from our SWONT Governor Glen Stewart who encouraged us with his message 'Aim Higher'. We look forward to all he is going to accomplish for our district!

​The cherry on top was hearing from our own Tracy Huxley Optimist International President. We are so proud of her!

Thanks to the volunteers who laboured away in the kitchen and cleaned up afterwards! Delicious food and wonderful fellowship!
