At the Optimist Second-quarter Conference spirits were high being number 1 Region and also number 1 District of Optimist International! Ausable Port Franks Optimists have alot to be proud of. President Walter Michielsens (also APFO President and SWONT LT. Governor) was very proud and honoured to receive Awards and Banner patches for the great work our club does. The International Candidates Committee met in Nov. and beginning of Feb. to discuss qualified Candidates for positions of International President, Vice President (x8),and Board of Directors (x2). When the nominations were released for public knowledge it was announced that our very own Tracy Huxley has been nominated by the Candidates Qualification Committee of 7 members including 4 past Presidents and 3 members at large. Any other member of the Region can enter their own self nomination should they feel they want to run in an election against Tracy Huxley. In event no one submits an additional name, Tracy Huxley will be acclaimed as the 2020-2021 Vice President of the Northeast Great Lakes Region  President Walter Michielsens of the Ausable Port Franks Optimist is proud to present Jeffery Red George with an award to honor his exceptional dedication to our club and our community  Our Club was proud to sponsor a new club at Kettle Point - lots of enthusiasm!
