Volunteers needed!
We've got our annual Grand Bend motorplex event coming up on August 3rd, 2019. This event is great in contributing to the efforts of keeping our optimist membership costs down. What will be required from those volunteering? Simply stand at the entrance of grand stands making sure everybody who is going past you has the correct ticket. Other than that you can enjoy the races and have front row seats! Please email Garrett Pedlar directly at [email protected] Some of us also know some people that would like to have a free day at the races and willing to volunteer for few hours to do that. Pass those names and numbers along to Garrett if you can think of any that have helped in the past or would like to help moving forward.

We had several Optimists taking part in a community action day to fight this invasive plant which is threatening our provincially and nationally significant wetland on L Lake in Port Franks. It was such a hot day, but much was accomplished! You can help in the efforts by following this link: Fighting Phragmites in Lambton Shores Our club held Royal Fest at the Thedford Country Manor on June 15 where we decorated the Manor and had games, prizes and refreshments for everyone.
