The weather may have been chilly, but hearts were warm at this evening's first ever general meeting of the Chippewas of Kettle & Stony Point First Nation Optimist Club MINO BIMAADIZIWIN! Members from the APF and Forest clubs were welcomed to attend the excellent BBQ and pot luck. Forging friendships, supporting each other, and uniting communities! Congratulations on your new club we can't wait to see all of the great work you will do!

Annual General Meeting

We had a good turn out at our AGM. A lot of fun social time was had, before we got down to the business of elections for the next term. Congratulations to Fran Bell who will be the incoming president in October. Jeffrey 'Red' George and Karen Puzara will be our two vice presidents. We have some new faces on our board of directors as well. Congratulations to all!
Walt Michielsens will be serving as our past president, as he continues to make incredible contributions to our club and community. Under his leadership, the membership has grown, many new initiatives have been introduced, we have sponsored a new club and reached out to our neighbouring communities in many tangible and positive ways. Thank you Walt for bringing us to the #1 club and district in the WORLD (not just a figure of speech, we are actually according to Optimist International!) Walt will of course continue to serve as president until October.
