Our Optimist Club of Ausable Port Franks is a sponsoring club for the newly formed Optimist Club of Kettle and Stony Point Mino Bimaadiziwin. We provided a great show of support, along with clubs from across the district and governors past present and future, in this newly formed club’s first fundraising event. Forging friendships and optimism and enjoying a great evening, all to provide opportunities for our most precious resource- our youth! What a successful event! Our secretary Linda Attard has released November's newsletter in time to be sure everyone has time to mark all of the upcoming events contained in it on their calendar - please be sure to read it. It also features our new president Fran Bell 's inaugural message.
A very successful event, under the leadership of the incredibly capable Linda Attard and Barb Willsie, was the result of the hard work and enthusiasm of many volunteers. The event was well attended and the excellent complement of vendors really made it a special weekend. Click on the image below to see more of the fun. . .

Here's a really cute story to make you smile! Penny's owner Karen Cummings writes: "I owe the Port Frank's Community Centre one pumpkin. Yes, I hate to admit it, but my dog is a thief. While voting at the advanced poll earlier today, Penny picked a pumpkin from the bed by the library entrance and wouldn't let it go. I can only suspect her motives. Maybe she wanted me to vote NDP ...or maybe she just wants pumpkin pie ...but she carried it all the way home. I promise I'll either bring it back (but I can't guarantee the condition) or bring you a new one. Sincerely, Penny the Pumpkin Picker's perplexed parent." Well, Penny doesn't look very remorseful but that's ok - everyone forgives you Penny! Good Girl Penny! (Thanks Karen for replacing the pumpkin!)
